Q. With the Rate Sample Indicator alert me if the risk has already been submitted through another agent?
A. No, the program will not notify you if the risk has been previously submitted by another agent for a premium indication. However, if you actually do submit a risk for quote that has already been reviewed in our office for another agent, you must get an Agent of Record letter signed by the insured. Once received, we will release the quote to you.
Q. Am I guaranteed the premium rate indicated in the program? Is this an actual quote?
A. No, this is only an indication of what the premium will be based on the information provided. To obtain an actual quote, complete and submit your application to Submissions.
Q. Do I receive a confirmation or receipt of the rate sample indicator transaction?
A. Yes, an email is automatically sent to the email account of the agent (possibly to the junk mail folder). A reference number is associated the transaction and the agent should note this reference number on submission correspondence.
Q. What do I do if I want to bind?
A. This program does not give binding authority. All risks must be formaly submitted and quoted by an underwriter before a policy can be bound. Please forward the email from the Rate Sample Indicator to Submissions along with your application and contractor’s questionnaire.
Q. Does the Rate Sample Indicator program allow me to calculate Sub Contractor costs?
A. No, any risk with Sub Contractor costs must be submitted to Submissions at Red Shield Insurance Company.
Q. Is it possible to get equipment rating; breaking out miscellaneous tools, medium grade tools & heavy tools?
A. No, not using the Rate Sample Indicator. Please submit application and applicable forms to Submissions at Red Shield Insurance Company.
Q. What if I have one owner and work performed falls under two classes?
A. The owner exposure will automatically be placed into the class that generates the highest exposure for the sample premium indicator.
